Light Focusing Chair

Light Focusing Chair

Peter Albrecht's Spotlight Focusing Chair connects to truss work with a roller system that allows users to move along the truss and focus lights while seated and harnessed (harness sold separately). Chair can often be retrofitted to existing truss work.

Case History
Stage hands use ladders to manually focus 40 individual stage lights on a truss hanging 30 feet above audience seating. Light focusing is a 6 to 8 hour job that can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule. Extensive ladder use increases fatigue and puts workers at risk.

PAC's focusing chair allows work to be completed in about one hour while comfortably seated and harnessed.

Schedule issues are resolved, focusing time is reduced by more than 80% and work safety is greatly improved!

Light Focusing Chair in use

"I can't emphasize enough its practicality.  Because I'm a practicing stagehand, I can speak from experience about the time, effort and danger involved in focusing and maintaining lights.  But I can also address the system from management's standpoint of crew efficiency and cost efficiency.   The system is invaluable from both perspectives."
